Napoleon Bonaparte expressed the opinion that “Nothing is more difficult, and therefore more precious, than to be able to decide,” and another great military leader, George S. Patton, once said that the willingness to make decisions is “the most important quality in a good leader.”  Clearly, the ability to make good decisions is critical to our personal well-being and our professional success.

  It has been said that “even when opportunity knocks, a man still has to get out of his seat and open the door.”  It has also been said that “the trouble with opportunity is that it always comes disguised as hard work” and “always looks bigger going than coming.”  The point to be made is that we need to be both vigilant and responsive to doors of opportunity for effective work and ministry in our personal, professional, and spiritual lives.
